In Victorian times the placement of the main staircase was deliberate, allowing for a dramatic and gracious desent to meet guest.

The formal parlor was the focal point of most Victorian times and would of been the scene of many of many extravagant social gatherings among friends and guest and a place for special family occasions.

This is also the room where the lady of the house would receive callers on her day at home.

The gentlemen's library is decorated in a more masculine style where the men would retire after dinner to talk business , play cards and smoke cigars the centerpiece of this room is the cherry carved fireplace and wildlife mounts.

The Dining Room was the scene for everyday meals and the center of glittering social dinner parties.

All meals big and small, were taken in the Dining Room, making it the most used family room in the house.

An elaborate dinner could have many as 12 courses and take more than three hours.
